Reminder: Household waste at Transfer Depot

09/09/2013

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to remind the community that the Transfer Depot does not accept household bagged garbage and has discontinued the service since April of 2013.

Household bagged garbage is now only removable through the door-to-door household pickup service. The bagged garbage service was ceased at the Transfer Depot due to budget constraints.

The Transfer Depot still accepts other types of waste such as appliances, small amounts of construction material, old furniture, brush and electronics from individuals.

Households with large amounts of waste are encouraged to recycle and compost to ensure their impact is minimal.

Further information can be obtained by calling the KEPO at 450-635-0600.
