Legislative Coordinating Commission addition

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke has officially appointed Iets�nhaienhs Christine Zachary Deom today, to the Kahnawake Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) Chiefs Advisory, effective immediately.

Zachary-Deom is a former lawyer and one of her main portfolios is Justice. She joins Ratits�nhaienhs Martin Leborgne, Billy Diabo, Bobby Patton and Iets�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer.

�I saw a gap with my legislative files and felt being appointed to the KLCC improves the flow of information between justice and the Community Decision Making Process,� said Zachary-Deom.

The Chiefs Advisory Committee is a group of five (5) Kahnawa�kehr�:non Ratits�nhaienhs/Iets�nhaiens who are responsible to ensure that the KLCC strictly adheres to the procedure for enacting laws in Kahnaw�:ke, to attend regularly scheduled KLCC meetings and activities; and to provide guidance to the KLCC members.
