Hockey Equipment Drive
09/17/2013
The Sports & Recreation Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking donations of used hockey equipment to help less fortunate families who are having trouble with the high cost of hockey equipment for their children.
On Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th, the Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex will be accepting donations of used hockey equipment from 9am to 4pm. Please ensure that all donated equipment is in good condition and, most importantly, meets all safety standards.
“I am a parent of three children that all played minor hockey and I know how expensive it can be. I also coached many seasons over the years and noticed many children in the community don’t get a chance to play or the equipment they have is unsafe for them to play,” said Carl Horn, Sports & Recreation Unit Portfolio Chief.
On Saturday, September 28th children and families in need of used hockey equipment can come to the Sports Complex to fill their needs from 9am - 4pm.
For further information on this initiative please contact the Sports & Recreation Unit at 450-638-2672.
