Urgent Community Notice

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers are urging community members to be on the lookout for a white van approaching children in the community.

The Peacekeepers have been made aware that, on two separate occasions in the last two weeks, a van has approached children and offered them fireworks. One incident happened in the afternoon hours in the area of the new developments in Texas.  The other occurred in the evening near the Karonhian�nhnha School.

Both incidents were similar in nature.  In one instance it was reported that there was one male in his thirties in the van; in the second incident it was reported that were two men in the van � one older and one younger.

The vehicle is a cargo-type van, white in color. Witnesses recalled that the word �Climatization� may have been written on the side.

The Peacekeepers are urging parents to speak to their children to remind them to NOT speak to strangers. Additionally, parents are reminded to contact the Peacekeepers immediately should they see this van or if any incident of this nature take place by calling 450-632-6505.
