Reminder - review process for MCK Election Law amendments ends this Friday

The Kahnawą:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to remind the community that the 30-day Review period for the draft of the proposed amendments to the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke Election Law ends this Friday, 27 Seskehkó:wa/September at 4pm. The draft contains twenty-one (21) proposed amendments, the most noteworthy being the proposal to reduce the number of elected chiefs from twelve to nine.
Any and all feedback should be directed to Trina C. Diabo, who is the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke technician assigned to coordinate the amendment process. Interested persons may also contact Ms. Diabo to arrange in-person meetings to provide their feedback. A report will be compiled and made available to the community when the Review Period ends. Once that has taken place, the KLCC will assign dates for the second round of Community Consultations.
