Legislative Coordinating Commission announces dates for upcoming legislation

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) announced today that dates have been set for the following legislative events, all of which will use the Community Decision Making Process:
1. Community Consultations for proposed amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, 22 Kenténha/October. 2. Proposed legislation to counter Canada’s S-2 (‘Matrimonial Real Interests’) will move forward with Community Consultation on 5, Kentenhkó:wa/November. 3. As the 30-day review Period for the draft amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Elections Law has ended, Community Consultations will resume on 19, Kentenhkó:wa/November.
Each meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evenings.
As has been the norm for the past several months, the meetings will be held from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium. Details on the agenda and specific subject matters will be distributed to the community in a timely manner.
