02/03/2014
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to remind the community that the second Community Consultation on the second draft of the proposed Kahnawà:ke Justice System Law takes place tomorrow (Tuesday 4, Enníska/February 2014), from 6pm to 8:30pm.
Please note that this meeting will be held at the Golden Age Club. Previous meetings had been located at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium.
The meeting will begin at Section 5 (‘Court of Kahnawà:ke Judgments’) and Section 6 (‘Appeals from the Court of Kahnawà:ke in Criminal Matters’). Those planning to participate are asked to review the current draft, copies of which are available at the Court of Kahnawà:ke in the village area, the MCK main office, or online at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
The proposed law is now in its Second Reading which, in the Community Decision Making Process, takes place once a second draft of a proposed law or amendment to a law is completed. Today (3, Enníska/February 2014) marks the fourth anniversary of the Community Mandate to proceed with a Kahnawà:ke Justice System Law.
