Winter storm conditions expected this evening

The Emergency Preparedness Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to advise the community of weather warnings for potential heavy snowfall and high winds beginning this evening, Thursday, February 13th.
A potential 15-35 centimetres of snow is expected to fall overnight accompanied by high winds. Snow mixed with winds will give the conditions of widespread blowing snow.
Community members are urged to remain indoors during this time and avoid driving as visibility could be severely diminished. Therefore, motorists are advised to take caution while traveling and be sure to have a roadside kit in the case of an emergency.
