MCK Election Law hearing Tuesday to discuss future number of Council Chiefs

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to remind Kahnawa’kehró:non that the next hearing for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law using the Community Decision Making Process will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, 1 Onerahtókha/April 2014) at the Golden Age Club from 6pm to 8:30pm .
The issue on the agenda is whether the community wishes to reduce the number of elected Chiefs to nine, maintain the current twelve Chiefs, or look at other options.
Those wishing to participate are asked to visit the www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com website to view the first draft of the proposed amendments, up to date information on this topic, or information on the Community Decision Making Process.
Participants are being urged to arrive a few minutes early to ensure a prompt start.
