05/09/2014

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has been informed that the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) has scheduled evening closures on one Kahnawà:ke-bound lane from Monday, May 12th to Saturday, June 21st for roadside rehabilitation work.

The closures will take place on the following schedule:
-    Mondays to Wednesdays from 8pm until 7am (except Monday, May 19th);
-    Thursdays from 10pm until 7am; and
-    Fridays from 10pm until 8am

The closures are required to allow the removal of temporary steel barriers. To take advantage of the closures, mobile maintenance will also be performed.

Additionally, a reminder that both Kahnawà:ke-bound lanes will be closed this evening from 10pm until 5am Monday. One lane heading in each direction will be available on the Montreal-bound side of the bridge. The 132 up-ramp from La Prairie will also be closed and traffic will be detoured to Route 138, with a U-turn at the intersection by the Sports Complex.

The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
