Gina Deer new Municipal Relations portfolio chief, to meet with Ste. Catherine mayor

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that Chief Gina Deer has been assigned the Municipal Relations portfolio, replacing Christine Zachary-Deom, who stepped down from the file due to workload issues.

“I’ve been involved in some of these types of meetings already, so I was happy to step in,” said Chief Deer. “I plan to hit the ground running.”

Her first official duty will be to meet with Ste. Catherine Mayor Jocelyn Bates today to discuss the feasibility study on the possible intermodal facility in the region. Representatives from Tewatohnhi’saktha will also be present at the meeting.
