Pet Micro-chipping clinic, July 19th
07/07/2014
The Animal Protection Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce a Micro-Chipping Clinic being held on Saturday, July 19th from 9am until 3pm at the Community Protection Unit. A veterinary technician will be on-site to perform the service at a cost of $40 by appointment only. Each appointment will require a $20 deposit paid in-person at the Animal Protection Department.
Pet owner’s contact information is stored on a micro-chip the size of a grain of rice, which is then inserted under the skin between the pet’s shoulder blades. Please note, the micro-chip is not a GPS for your pet.
It is standard procedure of veterinarians and animal protection officers to check for these micro-chips. Pets that are micro-chipped generally have a higher return rate than those that are not.
For further information or questions, please contact Deidra Whyte at Animal Protection by telephone at (450) 632-0635.
