Mercier Bridge complete closure for this weekend avoided

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) would like to inform the community that the overnight complete closure of the Mercier Bridge originally scheduled for Saturday, July 12 has been avoided due to a new procedure that will allow for concrete operations to still take place, but without major effects to traffic.

During the work, the current lane configuration of the Blitz will continue with one lane available for traffic in each direction. A reduced speed limit will be enforced in order to reduce vibrations while the concrete cures.

The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
