08/05/2014
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that Grand Chief Michael Ahríhron Delisle, Jr., and Chiefs Rhonda Kirby and Lloyd Phillips are attending the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador meetings in Montreal today.
There are two items on the agenda: follow-up regarding the ill-fated First Nations Control of Education Act and the temporary replacement of Regional Chief Ghislain Picard (who is currently acting as Interim National Chief for the Assembly of First Nations since the resignation of Shawn Atleo).
Chief Kirby and MCK technician Winona Polson-Lahache will attend the education portion of the agenda, while Chiefs Delisle and Phillips will attend both sessions.
