Update on Membership issues

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Chief & Council will continue to meet on a regular basis to formulate a plan of action in light of the current situation in which meetings have been called by community members to take action against people residing within the Territory in contravention of the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law.

The plan will be completed before the next Community Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, 16 Seskehk�:wa/September.

Additionally, the MCK would like to correct-clarify a story that appears in today�s edition of the Eastern Door entitled, �Community members opposed to evictions threaten to sue.� The MCK has not, in fact, received the letter indicated in the story.
