REMINDER Mercier Bridge closures for weekend
09/26/2014
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) is reminding motorists that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated and the Ministère des Transports du Quebec will reduce the Mercier Bridge to one lane in each direction beginning this evening (Friday), September 26th at 10pm until Monday September 29th at 5am.
The Montreal-bound Route 132 up ramp will also be closed during the work and motorists will be detoured to the service road towards Route 138 and the up ramp for Montreal. The work is necessary for inspection and steel structure reinforcement purposes.
Please note: at 8pm Sunday, the detour enters the 138 Re-surfacing Project work zone where milling and re-asphalting of the road base is taking place and lanes are reduced to one lane in each direction. However, since work is at night, traffic is expected to be minimal.
The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
