Chiefs in Quebec City for presentation to Native Affairs Minister today

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr. and Economic Development Portfolio Chief Gina Deer will be in Quebec City this afternoon for a presentation to be made to Quebec Native Affairs Minister Geoff Kelley.

Tewatohnhi�saktha will be making the presentation on economic development and social policy.

 �We feel it�s important that the Minister be given a snapshot of our current economic situation, what our needs are, and our view for the future,� said Grand Chief Delisle. �We�ve had a positive relationship with Quebec over the past few months. There are opportunities that exist that could see both Kahnaw�:ke and the neighboring communities enjoying benefits, and the more we understand each other the easier it is to work together.�

The chiefs will return to the office tomorrow (Thursday).
