Mercier Bridge Montreal-bound complete closure tonight
11/07/2014
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) has been informed by Ministčre des Transport du Quebec that both Montreal-bound lanes of the Mercier Bridge will be completely closed to traffic from 11:59pm tonight (Friday, November 7th) until 6am Saturday, November 8th.
The closure is necessary due to the reconstruction of the Monette overpass on the LaSalle side of the bridge. Road users are encouraged to use the Champlain or Jacques Cartier Bridges to gain access to the island of Montreal.
Both Kahnawą:ke-bound lanes will remain open.
Please note that the left lane of the Montreal-bound bridge will be narrowed to 3.15 metres in the work area of the Monette overpass until the reconstruction is completed. Trucks are prohibited from using the left lane on the Montreal-bound bridge.
The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
