Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolls into town tonight

11/26/2014

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to remind the community that the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will arrive this evening for its tenth consecutive visit to Kahnawà:ke and is scheduled to arrive at Adirondack Junction at 6:45pm. The train is decorated with literally hundreds of thousands of lights.

This year’s new feature will be ‘Selfies with Santa,’ so be sure to bring your cameras. As always, there will be live entertainment and volunteers will be on site to accept donations and distribute hot chocolate and healthy snacks. All cash donations will go to the Kahnawake Christmas Basket, while food donations will go to the Kateri Food Bank. Over the past decade the Holiday Train has raised close to $9.5 million and 3.3 million pounds of food for local food   banks across North America.

To reduce traffic volume in the area, the MCK is encouraging the use of a free Shuttle Bus service provided. A bus will depart from the town garage at 5:45pm to bring passengers to the Adirondack Junction and return after the event (see bus route below).
