Reminder - Complete closure Montreal-bound Mercier Bridge tonight
11/28/2014
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) is reminding road users that the Ministčre des Transport du Quebec will completely close both Montreal-bound lanes of the Mercier Bridge to traffic tonight (Friday, November 28) at 11:59pm until Saturday, November 29th at 9pm.
Both Kahnawą:ke-bound lanes will remain open.
The closure is necessary due to the reconstruction of the Monette overpass on the LaSalle side of the bridge. Use of the Champlain or Jacques Cartier Bridges is encouraged to gain access to the island of Montreal.
Please note that the left lane of the Montreal-bound Bridge continues to be narrowed to 3.15 metres in the work area of the Monette overpass until the reconstruction is completed. Trucks are prohibited from using the left lane on the Montreal-bound bridge.
The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
