Final Draft of Election Law amendments available for viewing, date set for Final Reading

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like inform the community that the Final Draft of the proposed amendments to the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Election Law are now available for the 30-Day Viewing Period on the Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission website at  www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.

The Final Draft contains minor changes made to the Second Draft at last week�s Community Hearing.

Upon completion of the 30-Day Viewing Period, the Reading of the Law will be conducted at 6pm on Tuesday, 24 Enn�ska/February 2015 at a location to be determined. The community is invited to attend.

Upon completion of the Reading, the Final Draft will then be brought to the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke to be signed into law. Should these steps be completed in a timely manner the amended law could be in force in time for the upcoming Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke elections scheduled for this summer.
