02/24/2015

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to offer its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Kenneth ‘Water Man’ Diabo who passed away this weekend at the age of 71.

Mr. Diabo was a fixture in Kahnawà:ke and was very much community-minded. He was a long-time volunteer with the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center who currently sat as a member of the User’s Committee. He was a past member of the Kahnawake Fire Brigade and was active in the political affairs of the community, most recently as part of the group entrusted with the creation of the Kahnawà:ke Justice System Law (‘Justice Act’).

“The Justice Commission wishes to acknowledge Kenneth’s contributions as a Community Representative on the Justice Act drafting committee,” said Director of Justice Services Ron Skye. “We would like to offer condolences to his entire family and his many friends and colleagues.”

A funeral service is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2pm at the St. Francis Xavier church in Kahnawà:ke.
