Seed Exchange and Planting Workshop Friday March 20th
03/13/2015
The Kahnawą:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO), in partnership with the Kahnawą:ke Schools Diabetes Prevention Project (KSDPP), will be hosting a Seed Exchange and Planting Workshop on Friday, March 20th from noon to 1 pm. The workshop will take place on the main floor of the KSDPP offices on River Road, located in the old radio station building.
This hands-on workshop will include a discussion about when, what, and how to plant your seeds in preparation for the gardening season ahead. It will be an opportunity for experienced and beginner gardeners to share knowledge and tips. Anyone who has seeds saved from last year is encouraged to bring them along to share and trade with the group.
Materials, including planting containers, soil, seeds, and planting information sheets will be provided to participants while supplies last. Information on building your own backyard composter and composting in general will also be provided. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
While participants are encouraged to bring extra seeds to share and exchange with others it is not a requirement as beginners are encouraged to come and learn from the green thumbs in the community!
For further information or to share your ideas for this workshop, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600.
