Letter of Complaint against two Chiefs officially received

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that a Letter of Complaint against Council Chiefs Gina Deer and Christine Zachary-Deom has been officially received and will now follow the processes outlined in the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Disciplinary Measures Regulations.

The complaint, made by community member Darlene Alfred, alleges breach of trust in regard to the Chiefs� positions on the issue of evictions of non-Natives residing on the Territory in contravention of the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law.

This is substantially the same complaint that was read into the public record at the 10, Ennisk�:wa/ March 2015 Winter Community Meeting. It was presented to Chief & Council unsigned at that time but has since been signed by Ms. Alfred.

The letter is demanding the immediate suspension of the Chiefs in question.
