Electoral Officer Announces 2015 Election Dates

Dwayne Kirby, Electoral Officer of the 2015 Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Elections, would like to announce that Election Day will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Karonhianónhnha School from 9am to 6pm.
Other important dates in the election process are as follows:
- Saturday, May 9: Nomination Day (10am–12pm, Services Complex)
- Tuesday, June 9: Candidates Night
- Saturday, June 13: Advanced Special Poll
Details on the times and locations for the Advanced Special Poll and Candidates Night will be announced as they approach.
Anyone interested in running for the position of Grand Chief or Council Chief will require one (1) nominator and one (1) seconder, both of whom are requested by the Electoral Officer to present themselves at the Social Development Unit Offices when nominating.
All nominators and seconders must be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of Election Day, meet the requirements of the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law and be listed on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry.
