Second meeting for Amendments to Membership Law tonight

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is reminding Kahnawa’kehró:non that the second meeting for proposed amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law will take place this evening from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Karonhianóhnha School.
The current meetings are officially part of the First Hearing, and will gauge whether the Drafting Team was able to reflect the community’s wishes in the draft law. The agenda for tonight’s meeting will include the following:
1. Jurisdiction 2. Definitions 3. The role of the Registrar (time permitting) “For the purposes of efficiency, we are asking as people to read the sections of the law that are on the agenda before they get to the meeting, if they are so able,” said Membership Portfolio Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer. “We wish to make the best use of people’s time. We were very pleased with the turnout for the previous meeting and hope we see significant participation again this evening.”
