Mercier Bridge works result in lane reductions and ramp closures

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform road users that the Ministère des Transport du Quebec (MTQ) and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) have announced Mercier Bridge closures beginning at 10am on Thursday, May 7th until Thursday, May 14th on the following schedule:
• Thursday, May 7th from 10am – 1pm: mobile cleaning work; lane will be closed where work is carried out by MTQ • Friday, May 8th at 10pm - Monday, May 11th at 5am: both Montreal and Kahnawà:ke-bound sides will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The Montreal-bound 132 up-ramp (from La Prairie) will also be closed. Rehabilitation preparation work on steel structure by JCCBI • Monday, May 11th at 8pm – 4:30am (Tuesday): Montreal-bound 138 up-ramp (from Chateauguay) will be closed by MTQ for cleaning work • Tuesday, May 12th at 8pm – 4:30am (Wednesday): mobile cleaning work; one lane will be closed where work is carried out by MTQ • Wednesday, May 13th at 8pm – 4:30am (Thursday): mobile cleaning work; one lane will be closed where work is carried out by MTQ • Additional inspection and cleaning works are being carried out by the MTQ. However, the works will coincide with existing JCCBI closures
Motorists are advised to utilize the Champlain or Jacques Cartier Bridges during the scheduled works, as there as there are no planned closures for those bridges. The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
