Mercier Bridge down to one lane in each direction for the weekend, 132 upramp closed

05/21/2015

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform road users that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will close one of two lanes on both directions of the Mercier Bridge and close the Montreal-bound Route 132 up-ramp (from La Prairie) from Friday, May 22nd at 10pm until Monday, May 25th at 5am.

Montreal-bound traffic coming from La Prairie will be detoured to the Route 138 up-ramp (from Chateauguay). These closures are necessary to allow the contractor to continue preparation work for rehabilitation work of the concrete deck planned for this summer.

The Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) will have inspection work that coincides with the JCCBI closures.

Additionally, two MTQ employees will be in the areas of Routes 207, 132, 138 and the Old Malone Highway conducting inspections on structures until 4pm today (Thursday). There will be no hindrance to traffic.

The MCK reminds the public that these inspection works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
