New road signage to improve safety on Route 132

05/22/2015

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community and road users that the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) will be working on Route 132 in the area of Petro-T and Tim Hortons.

Over the next few days, the MTQ will be installing new signs and posts to improve safety on that part of Route 132. The new signs and lane marking posts are a temporary measure, aimed at reducing the number of motor vehicle accidents that have occurred on that section of the highway.

“The MCK and MTQ are working with the owners of the Petro-T in an effort to improve safety and security in the area,” said Transport Portfolio Chief Rhonda Kirby.

The owners of the Petro-T Complex have developed a permanent traffic management plan, which is expected to be fully implemented by this fall.
