Mercier Bridge Work to be completed ahead of Schedule - Reopening of the lanes
07/29/2015
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to advise the community that the major works on the federal section of the Mercier bridge are ahead of schedule and that all lanes will reopen to traffic on Sunday, August 2nd at 8 a.m.
The work on the federal section that began in mid-June was scheduled to be completed by August 17th.
The contactor, Mohawk Bridge Consortium, was able to complete its work 15 days ahead of schedule.
The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will require some other closures in the coming weeks to finalize some of the work and the removal of equipment. The MCK will release further details regarding these closures next week.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
