Agenda set for next Tuesday’s Hearing for Amendments to Membership Law

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Hearings for proposed amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law will resume next Tuesday, 15 Seskehkó:wa/September at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Items to be discussed include:
- The Registrar (Section 5)
- The Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry (Section 6)
- Review any related Definitions in Section 4
“We hope the turnout will be as impressive as it’s been for the first couple of meetings that were held prior to the election,” said Membership Portfolio Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer. “So far, the community has been very diligent in working towards making the changes to make the law more efficient. We hope to regain the momentum we had seen this past spring.”
The meeting is scheduled from 6pm to 8:30pm. Information on the proposed amendments is available by contacting the MCK Membership Registrar, Rose-Ann Morris, at 450-638-0500.
