Trade, tobacco, language and education on agenda as Iroquois Caucus meets in Wahta

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to remind Kahnawa’kehró:non that a meeting of the Iroquois Caucus begins today (Tuesday) at Wahta Mohawk Territory. The two day event will conclude tomorrow (Wednesday afternoon).
Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Chief Martin Leborgne had previously confirmed their attendance. Additionally, Chief Economic Development Portfolio Chief Gina Deer has been confirmed to attend due to the fact that several agenda items focus on economic matters.
The agenda includes, among other topics, 1) Tobacco, 2) Taxation Summit, 3) Language Summit, 4) Free Trade Memorandum of Understanding, 5) Economic Summit, 6) Education Summit and, 7) Iroquois Caucus Consultation Policy.
The Iroquois Caucus consists of elected Councils from Akwesasne, Kahnawà:ke, Kanesatake, Tyendinaga, Wahta, Six Nations and the Oneidas of the Thames.
