10/30/2015
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Ministère des Transports du Québec that camera monitoring will take place on the Mercier Bridge, as part of the on-going inspection work of the span.
On Monday, November 1st, two (2) cameras will be installed at the top of the 138 and 132 ramps. The cameras will be used to gather data for an accurate count of the number of vehicles that use the bridge.
The cameras will be in place until Friday, November 6, 2015. A similar project is being conducted on the LaSalle side of the bridge.
Additionally, On Wednesday November 11th, the MTQ will install cameras to monitor the river, more specifically to record and gather data on the movement of ice during the winter and spring months. These cameras will be removed after the Spring thaw.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
