Waste Management Plan consultation process announced
11/13/2015
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke’s Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to advise Kahnawa’kehró:non that it has launched a community consultation process in regard to a proposed Waste Management Plan (‘the Plan’) for the Territory.
The Plan is based on Kahnawà:ke’s long-standing objectives to reduce waste, improve efficiency in its recycling program and increase composting initiatives. KEPO has begun working with various agencies and funding sources in order to accomplish its (and the community’s) goals.
The Plan includes an extensive summary of KEPO’s current projects and their related costs, as well as its future plans.
A link to the Kahnawà:ke Waste Management Plan has been posted on the main page at www.kahnawake.com for review and community feedback. This will continue through to the end of the year, after which the results will be compiled and brought back to the community in January 2016.
Please contact KEPO to present your comments at 450-635-0600, or via email at holly.mccomber@mck.ca.
