Leadership, financial management scholarship available for grade eleven students
11/24/2015
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that three (3) $5,000 scholarships are available for Aboriginal students by AFAO Canada (formerly Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada) to assist those students interested in pursuing a career in financial management as well as learning new leadership skills.
Students in Grade 11 and 12 are invited to apply for the scholarship and the PotashCorp Aboriginal Youth Financial Management Awards. Those interested are asked to submit a 1,500 word essay on the questions noted in the application form available online at www.afoa.ca (also attached) and submit two letters of recommendation.
Those chosen for the scholarship will also be invited to attend the AFOA Canada 16th Annual National Conference in Montreal in February 2016.
Although this is not an MCK initiative, it is important to note that the organizers have contacted the MCK to indicate that they would like to see a student from this community win the award and scholarship.
The deadline to apply is Friday, 4 Tsothóhrha/December.
