Community Decision Making Process on hiatus until New Year
12/02/2015
The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to inform the community that Community Decision Making Process (CDMP) meetings are now officially on hiatus until the New Year.
There are currently three laws that are in the Process:
1. The proposed Kahnawà:ke Tobacco Law, which is currently using the CDMP’s ‘Urgent Process’ provisions 2. The proposed amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law which has, to this point, completed five meetings in the First Hearing phase 3. The Kahnawà:ke Family Homes and Matrimonial Real Property Law, which was passed in December 2014 using the CDMP ‘Urgent Process.’ This law has been resubmitted to the KLCC, as is mandatory for laws passed using the Urgent Process,’ and is expected to enter the ‘Regular’ CDMP in 2016.
