MCK congratulates Innu Nation on new Wind Energy deal with Quebec

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to congratulate the Innu Nation on the securement of a partnership deal with the Quebec government and Hydro Quebec to develop a 200 megawatt wind energy project.

The announcement was made earlier this week.

�The Innu offered support for our wind energy project,� said Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton. �These projects take tremendous time and energy to conclude.  This is an important opportunity for the Innu people.  We are pleased to offer our congratulations and continuing support for this partnership to all concerned.�

�We hope this bodes well for the future of our own Kahnaw�:ke Sustainable Energies project at St. Cyprien de Napierville,� he concluded.
