KLCC announces agenda for next Tuesday�s Membership Law hearing

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to inform the community that the agenda has been set for the First Hearing (part 5) for proposed amendments to the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law, which is scheduled for next Tuesday, 26 Tsothohrk�:wa/January 2016 at the Karonhian�nhnha School Gymnasium. The agenda will include the following sections:

1. Section 12: Application Process/Recognition. Minor rewording with addition of Appeal, with criteria remaining the same
2. Section 13: Instatement and Reinstatement. Minor changes, with former Section 10.3 moving to this section
3. Section 14: Adopted Children. Major redraft to this section, with adopted children being treated in a similar manner to other First Nations/Onkwehonwe children
4. Additionally, any relevant/related Definitions from this meeting will be addressed on an on-going basis (Section 4
