Chiefs to participate in annual ICE Conference

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Gaming Portfolio Chief Gina Deer are in London, England to participate in the annual ICE Totally Gaming Conference.

The Chiefs will be meeting with current operators, approved agents and potential clients during the week-long event, which is generally acknowledged as the most important meeting of its type in the world.

Mohawk Online and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission will also be participating. The event runs until this Thursday.

�It�s been a crucial part of business for Kahnaw�:ke to be part of the ICE show, as it has been a key component in attracting new clients,� said Chief Deer. �There is nothing more effective than face to face interaction when it comes to business.�

�The role of the portfolio chief is to help businesses to better understand our political situation and explain our jurisdiction from our position,� she explained. �Our political landscape has always been very complex and it continues to evolve. The world needs to be assured that this evolution continues to move in a positive direction.�

The chiefs are expected to return to the office on Monday, February 8th.
