First Hearing for proposed Kahnawake Tobacco Law continues Tuesday evening

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to remind the community that a meeting on the proposed Kahnawà:ke Tobacco Law will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at the Karonhianóhnha School gymnasium.
The agenda will consist of Section VI, which pertains to the proposed Kahnawà:ke Tobacco Regulatory Commission. This section consists of seventeen (17) clauses, which include Guiding Principles; Guidelines; Structure; Term of Office; Eligibility; Elections; General Commission Members; Industry Members; Removal from Office; Resignation; Vacancy; Interim Commission; Officers; Quorum; Meetings; Remunerations and; Conflict of Interest.
The meeting will begin at 6pm sharp and will end at 8:30pm, using the Community Decision Making Process. Those wishing to attend are asked to view the proposed law and, if possible, bring their copies from previous meetings (if applicable). The proposed law can be viewed at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com , which is the KLCC website.
Tomorrow’s meeting is the third in the First Hearing phase of the Community Decision Making Process.
