Aerial mosquito spraying in Chateauguay

The Public Safety Unit (PSU) of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is advising the community that an aerial spraying operation to control the mosquito population is currently being conducted in Chateauguay near the boundary of Kahnaw�:ke.

No entity is authorized at any time to carry out an aerial spraying operation in Kahnaw�:ke.

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers and PSU were informed that during the course of the operation, the low-flying helicopter was spotted flying over several areas within the boundaries of Kahnaw�:ke.

�The company has been contacted and informed that they are not authorized to fly over our Territory,� said Director of Public Safety Arnold Lazare. �The company has complied and will ensure they do not cross over the boundary of Kahnaw�:ke.�
