Important Notice – Section of Old Fort Wall CLOSED as safety precaution

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke’s Public Safety Unit, in conjunction with Public Works, is advising the community that a section of the Old Fort Wall located behind the cenotaph has been closed immediately due to safety concerns.

It has been determined that the section of the wall that is used as an entrance to the Kateri School is compromised and a safety perimeter has been established. Due to the danger, Kateri School students and teachers, community members, and others who may use the entrance are been urged to respect the perimeter and avoid the area until further notice.
