Franklin Williams appointed to Kahnawake Gaming Commission
05/10/2016
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to advise the community that Franklin Williams has been appointed to the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC).
Mr. Williams was appointed to replace the late Lori Jacobs, whose passing left a vacancy on the three-seat KGC. The appointment was formalized at yesterday’s duly convened Council Meeting and was passed unanimously.
“Lori was a current, sitting Commissioner,” said Gaming Portfolio Chief Gina Deer. “Her unfortunate passing left a void that had to be filled immediately, as the KGC cannot operate with only two members. We were fortunate that Franklin Williams agreed to the appointment. He is well respected and highly regarded, and will be able to draw from his years of experience.”
The term is effective immediately and will run until 30, Ohiarí:ha/June 2017, at which time Ms. Jacobs’ term would have ended.
