STAY INDOORS: Possible wolf in Diabo road and OCR area

05/19/2016

The Public Safety Unit (PSU) is urging residents on Diabo Road and in the area of the Old Chateauguay Road to be cautious due to the discovery of several large paw prints believed to possibly belong to a lone wolf.

Prior to the prints being inspected by the PSU, locals in the area believed it to belong to a bear. Although it is most likely a large dog, precautions must be taken to assume that the tracks may have been left by a wolf.

Residents in the area are urged to stay vigilant, especially if they have small children. Additionally, make note of any unusual incidents such as missing pets or overturned waste bins.

If you see any animal that resembles a wolf, contact the Kahnawake Peacekeepers immediately at 450-632-6505 and keep your distance from the animal.

The PSU is working diligently to ensure that this possible threat of a dangerous animal is taken care of as quickly and safely as possible.

The community will be updated as soon as developments occur.
