Notice regarding Hydro Quebec poles
06/16/2016
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to remind community members to avoid covering the ‘number plaque’ on Hydro poles located within the Territory.
Community members often utilize the poles to post notices or other signs; however, it has come to the attention of the MCK that some persons are occasionally covering the identification plaques on the poles, which is causing Hydro Québec crews problems.
The crews use these plaques to locate customers (since Kahnawà:ke doesn’t use street signs) and it is causing delays in answering customer service issues. More specifically, there is concern that delays in addressing emergency issues quickly, such as overheating or blown transformers, can have disastrous consequences.
