Storm downs trees in Tiower�:ton

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that a severe wind storm in Tiower�:ton on Monday night (June 20), has downed numerous trees; blocking roads, driveways and even damaging some cabins.



Caretakers and volunteers have managed to clear most of the main roads but the Lands Unit is advising that persons planning to visit Tiower�:ton this weekend should contact Skatsenhati Mykie Lazare at 819-321-3375 prior to leaving, as access may be limited in some areas.

The Public Safety Unit has been alerted and is assessing the situation. All the owners of the damaged cabins have also been contacted.
