Kanawaki Documentary Premieres September 16th
09/07/2016
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce that a documentary entitled ‘Green Fees: The Evolution of the Kanawaki Lease’ will premiere at the Kahnawà:ke Legion on Friday, September 16th at 7pm.
The documentary is just over 40 minutes long and will be followed by a Panel Discussion/Question & Answer session.
The documentary deals with the history of this unique lease and how it has evolved over 100 years to today.
‘Green Fees’ is a way to begin to inform Community Members on the Kanawaki Golf Club and the lease prior to Community Consultation, which begins this October as the rents are up for negotiation.
The goal is to begin to dispel some of the rumors about the club and answer key questions, such as, who owns Kanawaki.
MCK Public Relations would like to thank Gage Diabo for putting the documentary together. Diabo will be on hand to answer questions at the premiere.
