Route 207 Consultation begins this week

09/12/2016

The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke is pleased to announce that consultation with Route 207 Residents & Businesses will begin sooner than expected regarding stop signs, trucks and traffic.

This week, Public Safety employees will deliver a survey door-to-door to residents on Route 207. Residents/Business Owners are invited to complete the survey and submit it at the Peacekeepers Station (open 24 hours a day) or the Public Safety Unit (between Eileens Bakery & the Services Complex) weekdays from 8:30am and 4pm until Friday, September 23rd at 4pm.

The Public Safety Unit will also host kiosks on Saturday, September 17th from 10am - 1pm and Monday, September 19th from 7 9pm for Route 207 residents/business owners to voice concerns, ask questions and submit their surveys.

Though names will not be shared, residents/business owners must put their name and phone number on their survey so that Public Safety can verify that each survey was completed by a Route 207 household/business. There will be one survey per household/business. Consultation had been scheduled for October but recent issues have moved the date up.

We want to afford residents & business owners on Route 207 every opportunity to have their voices heard and questions answered sooner rather than later, said Public Safety Commissioner Ron Skye.

For further information on consultations, please contact Tonia Williams at 450-632-0635 or email tonia.williams@mck.ca.
