AFNQL chiefs in Akwesasne for three days of meetings

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that Rats�nhaienhs Clinton Phillips is in Akwesasne to attend the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador Chiefs� Assembly taking place today through Thursday.

Agenda items include Taxation Issues; Specific Claims and Additions to Reserves Policy; Relations with Quebec; Consultation; Economic Development; Health & Social Services; Education; Public Security and Women�s issues.

Among guests who are expected to participate or speak at the Assembly are Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, Quebec Native Affairs Minister Geoffrey Kelley and Regional Director for Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada Luc Dumont.

The Assembly will be held at the Akwes�sne Mohawk Casino Resort. Rats�nhaienhs Phillips is expected back in the office on Friday.
