Power outage in Kateri Hospital area until this evening
11/22/2016
The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is informing the community that homes in the vicinity of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre are currently without electricity.
Earlier this afternoon, a tractor-trailer collided with a hydro pole which resulted in the loss of electricity for homes in the area.
At 2:40pm, Hydro-Quebec confirmed that the power would be restored by midnight tonight (Tuesday). Residents should stay with family or friends to avoid freezing temperatures due to no electrical heat. The Elders Lodge is also available for elders and can be accessed by calling (450) 632-5449.
